Interactive Events to Engage Participants — IFVP 2019 Playshop | New York, NY

  • Montclair State University, School of Communication and Media 1 Normal Avenue Montclair, NJ, 07043 United States (map)

Looking forward to attending the annual conference of the International Forum for Visual Practitioners, attended by many fellow facilitators, as well as graphic recorders.

Here is the game plan for session:

Format: This will not be a “workshop,” but a “playshop”! We will solve serious challenges facilitators face with playful solutions.

Content: We will explore tested approaches on how to make day-long or multiple-day events (offsites, retreats, workshops) both productive and fun. Specifically, we will focus on how to make events interactive to ensure participants are fully engaged and maintain their cognitive and collaborative energy throughout long group events.

Outcomes: Facilitators will walk away with at least a dozen ready to use activities or modifications to existing practices to make events more interactive.  Side effects will include peer learning, sparking connections, and fun.

Extras: Participants will receive a “Game plan” reference handout, special giveaways, and points on the session Leaderboard!
