How would you like to link Applied Improv to the latest decision-making management theory and practice? Let's talk about how applied improv approaches (and you — the people who bring AI into organizations) help mangers solve a mission-critical problem: Most managers believe their organizations are not making good decisions. Decision-making is tricky because of challenging context, quirky group dynamics, and cognitive biases. Organizations can improve their decisions by following an IDEAL process that brings together diverse groups and de-biases the conversations. So it happens, applied improv is a perfect tool to achieve that — and I am speaking from experience.
This will not be a “workshop", but a “playshop”! We will solve serious challenges facilitators face with playful solutions. We will explore tested approaches on how to make day-long or multiple-day events (offsites, retreats, workshops) both productive and fun. Specifically, we will focus on how to make events interactive to ensure participants are fully engaged and maintain their cognitive and collaborative energy throughout long group events.
I’ll be sharing the highlights from my workshop at the Global AIN Conference in Paris in August with my fellow AIN practitioners in the Bay Area. The session In Paris generated a very lively discussion and participants have shared it at other regional AIN meetings.

Ideas on how to supplement the “soft” topic of empathy (often resisted by business people) with a more “hard-core” topic of “shrewd empathy” (which has many business applications)
Attendees will be exposed to the concept of “shrewd empathy” with a definition, multiple examples of its application in business, and tips on how to practice and promote to clients, including excerpts from client trainings.
Shoutback is a startup leveraging machine learning to develop a novel and superior way do gather, mine, and monetize online readers’ opinion data. I have been helping the founder team develop and communicate its business value proposition. Shoutback has been selected to present its concept at an AI Pitch day in Prague.
I’m speaking to freshmen in the English-language Management Program at UNWE (University of National and World Economy) in Sofia, Bulgaria. I chose the topic of "The team kick-off" - how to get on the same page with your team mates at the onset of a project. Hopefully, my ideas will serve them well in the years to come
